On February 28, 2007 I started reading the bible. I didn’t know what came to my mind when I started asking Adelpha about the verses of the bible. Maybe the reason was when I and Adelpha went to Lahug Christian School or LCS. This is the school of Adelpha when she was still in her elementary years. When we went there, Adelpha introduced me to her teachers before. One of her teachers was teacher Gracel Navaja. We went around her school, I met many students there. Their school was little but was full of happy people. I liked their school very much. We went to different classrooms. And when we went to the classrooms I saw verses on the walls. There was one verse that caught my eyes. I don’t know why but I think this will be my “life verse”. And it goes a little something like this “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart” Psalm 37:4. It is found in the classroom of teacher Gracel Navaja. That verse is also the life verse of teacher Gracel. There was also one verse that is also found in the same room. It said “For I know the plans I have for you Plan to prosper you and not to harm you Plans to give you hope in the future” declares the Lord” Jeremiah 29:11. For me the meaning of this verse is that the Lord already has plans for us. And in his plans he wants us to do well. He does not want to harm us. He only wants the best of us. When Adelpha brought her bible, she made me copy some verses. One verse said “You will know the truth and the truth will set you free” John 32:8. This means that if you lie what you lied about will haunt you and you will always think about what you did cause lying is a sin. It is a big crime in the eyes of the Lord. Another verse said “I alone am the Lord your God. No other God may share my glory. I will not let idols share my praise” Isaiah 42:8. This means that God wants to be loved. He wants to be loved more than your idols. Why? Maybe it’s because when you idolize somebody very much that you forget Him. He is not worth forgetting just because of your idols. I too experienced that but when I read this verse something came to my mind that we should love God more than any other person in the world. Because he is the one who created us. We are his followers. Another verse said “ My father and mother may abandon me, but the Lord will take care of me” Psalm 27:10. This means that we are flocks sheep and the Lord is our shepherd. He takes care of us. When we are lost He finds a way to make us come back to him.
